About Charles Winecoff

I am a native of North Carolina, USA and received my BA in Architecture from the School of Design at North Carolina State University.
I then lived and worked in New York City and Connecticut until I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2005 to pursue painting full time.

I have been painting pretty much my entire life; last year, while working on a figurative painting, one of the two figures brought Beckett’s character, “Molloy”, to mind - in his greatcoat with his crutch. Thus, the series was born, each painting with a different Beckett character or scene from his novels and plays.

My work has been exhibited in New York City, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, North Carolina and New Mexico.

I have received a number of awards in juried shows such as:
The Salmagundi Club in New York City
Audubon Artists in New York City
Associated Artists of Winston-Salem Inc
The Artwell Gallery in Connecticut
Washington Art Association in Connecticut
Silvermine Guild Arts Center in Connecticut
